Upcoming Housing and Land Use-Related Events:
- Through Thursday, Dec. 12: Voting is now underway for tenants at NYCHA’s Hylan Houses, who can choose between one of three funding models for their development. More here.
- Tuesday, Dec 10 at 9:30 a.m.: The City’s Landmark Preservation Commission will hold a public meeting regarding several properties, including the Modulightor Building Apartment Duplex at 246 East 58th St. More here.
- Wednesday, Dec. 11, 6 to 9 p.m.: The Office of Civil Justice will hold its annual public hearing on the city’s Universal Access to Counsel Law (also known as Right to Counsel), which provides free legal services to certain low-income tenants facing eviction. More here.
- Thursday, Dec. 12, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.: New York Housing Conference will host its annual awards program, featuring policy-related symposiums, a networking reception and more. More here.
- Thursday, Dec. 12 at 11 a.m.: The NYC Council’s Subcommittee on Zoning and Franchises will meet regarding a planned $200 million Empire State Development Corp. grant to support the redevelopment of the long-vacant Kingsbridge Armory in the Bronx. More here.
- Thursday, Dec. 12, 4 to 5 p.m.: Services for the UnderServed (S:US) staff will be at the New Amsterdam Library branch at 9 Murray St. in Lower Manhattan to share information about support for avoiding eviction, using CityFHEPS to find housing, and supportive services for veterans. - Monday, Dec. 16 at 10 a.m.: The NYC Council’s Committee on Pubic Housing will hold an oversight hearing about weather-proofing NYCHA buildings and campuses. More here.
- Monday, Dec. 16 at 1 p.m.: The NYC Planning Commission will hold a public review session. More here.
NYC Affordable Housing Lotteries Ending Soon: The New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) are closing lotteries on the following subsidized buildings over the next week.
