The Lake County Major Crimes Task Force is investigating the death of a man who was shot Monday night in Mundelein.
Mundelein police responded to reports of shots fired on the 700 block of South Lake Street at about 7:10 p.m. only to discover a man had been transported by a private vehicle to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
Investigators learned the victim was pronounced dead at the hospital and the person who drove the man to the hospital had left the hospital prior to police arriving.
The victim’s autopsy is scheduled for later today.
